Print-making, particularly, woodcut and lino, provides a welcome respite when a painting stops speaking to me, telling me where it wants to go next.  I get a great deal of pleasure in the practical process of producing a print:  the idea for the print is explored with drawings in my sketchbook; then the chosen image is transferred to the block for the cutting.

I delight in handling the cutting tools, their bite into the woodblock or lino; inking up; working the press, all in an effort to produce a satisfactory print.
